Comment by John R on February 14, 2013 at 17:18 Have the same issue. Have had nothing but problems with REX. By the time they state they are fixing one issue another arises. Very frustrating for such an expensive program!
Comment by Tim Woodward on January 8, 2013 at 5:32 Fullscreen, windowed, docking and undocking windows etc makes no difference to the issue and I haven't updated REX since well before the issue arose
It could possibly be my computer or the hotter summer weather we have at the moment as that's degradede performance before but not in this way,
Cheers Warren
Comment by Warren Holland on January 7, 2013 at 8:05 Hey Tim I seem to have the same problem but ive managed to narrow it down to a few things,
1) are you undocking any windows and moving them to another screen this can cause this issue aswell see below.
2) REX latest version made my mouse cursor flash very fast and frame rates dropped down to about 9 FPS just after I opened up the GPS window and moved it, I removed REX and I am now using Active Sky and havent had a problem since.
Hope this helps give me a shout if you have any further problems.
Comment by Tim Woodward on January 7, 2013 at 5:26 Does anyone have any ideas why FSX has started playing up, it seems no matter how low I adjust the settings in between running really quite smooth there will be patches where the FPS drop to literally 2 or 3 frames a second each for a little while (maybe 10 seconds) I've tried changing everything I can think of,even no traffic, and lowest res (1024x768 on my system) no fancy tricks and even a new default config file but it still messes up, with ANY aircraft default or not, with only one aircraft available or many, scenery on or off...might reinstall but I'm NOT keen on that (again,again,again,again,again,again.....!)
Thanks
Brian; They do work together and UTX puts in roads, bridges, railyard's and other items of this nature. I install UTX first since Gex will look to see if you have UTX installed and it will install textures that basically enhance your UTX install. Even if you install Gex first, you can tell it to look for UTX and make the changes based on UTX installed or not. Flight 1 made the software to be compatible with each other. Gex puts in great ground cover textures.
Comment by Brian Mitchell on November 7, 2012 at 9:24 thanks guys for the assurance on GEX and UTX - its quite a task commissioning a new pc with all those add ons most of which require some form of authentication using information long since forgotten! Good record keeping has to be essential.
Comment by Eddie on November 7, 2012 at 9:17 Brian, i have only GEX,but they should go together since in the GEX control panel there is the option - " GEX for UTX USA or Canada". Afaik, GEX replaces textures, UTX arrange them to look like the real thing( or close to it). So , they should be complementary , at least.
they go together i think Brian

Comment by Brian Mitchell on November 6, 2012 at 9:01 Guys, I have just emailed a query on GEX and UTX to all members of the group - sorry I meant to put the question up here on the wall and not bother you individually. Any response (here or by email) will be much appreciated of course and apologies again
Comment by Tomaž Drnovšek on October 25, 2012 at 9:39 Matthew, I will check out your website. My interest in news is mainly reading them though. I know it's very hard work to run such a website that's why I usually give donations to people who do things like that in their free time. Thanks for the link.
