The friendly face of flight simming
Hi folks,
Now we seem to have the domain mapping sorted out (flightsimulatornetwork.com now points here), I want to look at other aspects of the site.
A few people have asked about making donations. That's certainly one option and thanks to everyone who's contacted me about it.
Another is the horrible ad at the top of the page.
A third option is the ability to charge for access to certain/all areas of the site. The charge can be anything from $0 upwards. And I could set it so that people basically pay what they think it's worth. Of course, that could be nothing at all :)
What do you think? Have a particular preference one way or the other? Or know of another option I haven't yet considered?
Cheers,
Mark

Comment by Mike Cameron on December 19, 2012 at 23:21 I agree with the others leave the ad, I do not even notice it and would rather have it then having to pay to access. The donate button is a good idea.
Comment by Ole Andreasen on December 19, 2012 at 22:14 Yes... put the donate button back on, so we can help chip in for the bill. And leave the adds. As the others say, I too hardly notice them anyway, so if they help pay some.... leave them.
Comment by Mark Avey on December 19, 2012 at 21:45 No problem guys. In fact, this makes it easier - and cheaper - for me, as it's a paid add-on to add subscription collections.
Should I add a Donate button back, though?
Comment by Kenneth McKinstry on December 19, 2012 at 20:00 I agree with Tim as well.
Comment by Tim Davis on December 19, 2012 at 15:45 If the ad pays some of the bills, leave it. Most of us probably just ignore it anyway. I know I do.
I think charging for any area would be detrimental to the site which has always been free to all.
The donation tab or section certainly needs to be added so we can send in our financial help!
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
