Hi again Warren,

AI traffic set too high can also cause the same issue.  You might want to check your AI traffic settings and make sure nothing got maxed out.

Did you try to save your FSX.cfg file (rename it) and then restart FSX to allow it to build a new FSX.cfg file?  If it solves the issue, pull up the old .cfg and compare to the new .cfg - check display settings and see what changed.  You don't have to throw away your old .cfg if you can find the line that's causing the problem (if indeed this is source of the trouble).

Are you running any new scenery add-on?  It sure acts like your processor is in overload mode or you are hitting the RAM max if your RAM is low like mine (2 gigs).  But a simple .cfg display line change can cause the exact same symptoms, so don't nuke your computer just yet!   :)

I have tried removing REX and using basic, Active sky still the same, I have tried different aircraft, but it seems to happen especially either when I switch to another view or I open for example, FMS to program or the GPS window. I have back tracked on Nvidia drivers, that didn't make a difference. tried in window mode and full screen mode, still the same.. and when it happens it just sucks the life out of my frame rates. I have checked to see if there is anything running in the background, there is nothing. I have disabled my second monitor and still the same.  Please Please can anyone help.. driving me insane, as I want to finish my round the world trip..
